COURSE 1
Will My Kids Be Okay?
The question that wakes you up at 3am. Here’s the guide we wish every divorcing parent had on day one.
You’ve already decided to leave, or your partner has, or the conversations are happening and the ground is shifting under you.
Somewhere in the middle of all of it, you keep coming back to your kids.
What is this going to do to them? What if I'm getting this wrong? What if the choices I make in the next few weeks shape the rest of their lives — and no one has even told me what those choices are?
Here's what we want you to hear before anything else.
Which means the decisions you're making right now matter. A lot.
Not the big legal decisions everyone is pushing you toward — but the smaller daily ones that quietly determine what your kids carry into adulthood.
We built this guide to walk you through the 5 most important of those.
The ones we wish every parent had on day one.
Inside the Guide + Podcast
Five things every divorcing parent needs to know — in their first conversation, their first week, their first ninety days.
Who We Are
We are moms, therapists, and divorce experts on a mission to help families keep children in the center, not in the middle of divorce.
Two moms. Two divorce professionals. One mission.
We're Kate Alcamo and Dr. Hallie Strauss, co-founders of The Co-Parent Collective.
Kate is a child and adolescent therapist who has spent years watching how adults still carry their parents' divorce decades later.
Hallie is a licensed psychologist, parent coordinator, and evaluator who has spent her career inside the legal process — watching families enter the system without a roadmap.
We come at this from completely different ends of the same broken system, and we kept landing in the same place.
Most parents are flying blind, and their kids are paying for it.
So we built the resource we wish every family had on day one. This guide is where it starts.
This is the Guide We Wish Parents Had on Day One.
